Two people running one company together, splitting the operating work between them.
What was wrong
It was messy. The goals lived in two heads instead of one place, so the two of them pulled in different directions and neither was held to much.
What we found
They did not need more discipline. They needed the same board in front of both of them, and a reason to look at it every day.
What we built
- The business as a game, with goals, milestones and progress you can see
- An agent they reach on Telegram or the desktop, on all the time
- An accountability score fed by Google, Fitbit and WHOOP
What changed
Planning went from hours to a few minutes a day. The two of them now want the same things in the same order. Every milestone hit gets its own small celebration, so the work has a scoreboard instead of a backlog.
What they own now
The board, the agent and the score, running on their own accounts.
